trip to new zealand

Went to NZ recently and it was really refreshing to see 'Risk' put were it should be in society. It rests with everyone within the community. They are 10 years behind Australia in this department and I hope they stay that way. There's lots of things to do in NZ that would be classed as 'a little scarey and a little dangerous', but it's left up to the individual to decide whether they will participate or not. Just driving on the roads keeps you very alert. No cushy, cushy safety barriers on steep winding roads with black ice and terrifying drops off's, no, hey sunshine, if you don't pay attention, drive to the conditions, maintain your car, there's a very real chance - YOU WILL DIE!!

Compare that to our new Forrest Hwy in Perth, beautiful and straight, double lanes, flat, bumper car barriers and walls everywhere, cleared areas on either side of the Highway...and what is all this for?? to try and stop the drongos from killing themselves on the road who are doing everything but driving the car. And it applies all through out our daily lives now, brought on by our litigious society. Lawyers have a lot to answer for, people want to blame everyone else when things go wrong instead of answering to their own consequences.

It's the same with Finances, neglect them, abuse them, don't nurture them and you will pay the price. Down the track when you lose the ability to earn an income the bleak reality will set in, but by then it will be to late to change. Waste it at your own peril!!
